Saturday Parkinson's Foundation Symposium
The Parkinson's Foundation sponsored the Education Symposium in Murfreesboro for the first time on Saturday 4 March from 9am to 12:30. We want to thank the Fellowship United Methodist Church on Highway 99 for being such a great host venue. Guests to the event were treated to breakfast and vendor displays from 9am to 9:45 followed by our speakers. There were about 120 registered for in-person and 150 registered for the online streaming of the program. We want to thank the Parkinson's Foundation and their moderator Jessica Bartsch and her team for conducting a complicated simultaneous in-person, streaming program. We want to especially thank the vendors that pick up the tab and they include: ACADIA Pharmaceuticals.
We also want to thank Tennessee State Senator Shane Reeves for stopping by to encourage us and to lend his support for the Murfreesboro Support Group and the Parkinson's Foundation in our effort to reach Persons with Parkinson's in our region.
Colleen Bridges from Music City "Rock Steady Boxing" treated us to some half -time exercises and got our blood pumping and our focus sharpened.
We enjoyed having several members attend from the “Trembling Troubadours” a Parkinson's choir from Chattanooga. Mount Juliet, Franklin, Cookville and several of the surrounding communities were represented as well.
